Please have your swimmer arrive 10-15 minutes prior to their scheduled practice time, so that they can be checked in and have a chance to get ready before the start of practice. Also, please write your child's name in Sharpie on one of their upper arms, this helps the coaches identify and learn each child by name.
To be ready for practice, it is best that your swimmers have the following:
- appropriate swimwear (already on them)
- goggles
- swim cap
- fins (for age groups to be announced)
- sunscreen (already on them)
- towel
- water bottle
- a bag to keep it all in
Please label everything as best you can and be on the lookout for the lost and found collection.
If you have questions or concerns: After your swimmer(s) are checked in, several board members will be available to answer any questions you might have as we begin our season. Any question is a good question, and we will be happy to answer them all! Please defer to any available board member during practice times for any inquiries you might have that cannot wait until practices are over throughout the season. Practice times are for practice only for both swimmers and coaches.
As in years past there will be no parents or siblings (not swimming) allowed on deck during practices, but you are welcome to watch from outside the gate. Also, please remind each other to be courteous to our neighbors (and their pets) as we “take over” the pool and park during our swim times. We want our team to embody not only good sportsmanship but goodwill as well. We are part of an amazing community, and we want them to know how amazing our Hurricanes are!
